Privacy Policy
At PiHaul, your privacy and trust are our priorities. This policy explains what data we collect, how it’s used, and the rights you have to control it.

1. Who we are
- PiHaul operates a freight marketplace and load board designed for carriers, brokers, and shippers (“Services”). References to “we”, “us”, or “PiHaul” mean the PiHaul service and its operating entity.
- Contact: [email protected].
- If you are located in the EU/EEA or UK, PiHaul is the data controller for personal data processed in connection with the Services unless stated otherwise.
2. Information we collect
- Account data such as name, email, company, role, and authentication identifiers.
- Marketplace activity such as searches, views, reveals, posted loads, quotes, messages, and preferences.
- Device and technical data including IP address, browser/OS, timestamps, and event logs for security and fraud prevention.
- Billing data (payer name, last-4, billing address, subscription details) processed by our PCI-compliant payment provider—PiHaul does not store full card numbers.
- Optional feedback and support content you submit (attachments, screenshots, survey responses).
3. How we use data
- Provide core functionality including load search, posting, messaging, reveals, and account management.
- Secure accounts, prevent abuse, investigate incidents, and enforce marketplace rules.
- Measure and improve performance, quality, and relevance of search results and recommendations.
- Send essential communications (verification, security alerts, receipts, subscription notices).
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
4. Legal bases (GDPR/UK GDPR)
- Contract: to deliver the Services you request and administer your account.
- Legitimate interests: to keep the platform secure; prevent fraud; improve features; and understand usage.
- Consent: where required for optional analytics/marketing or specific requests you initiate.
- Legal obligation: to comply with tax, accounting, or lawful requests from authorities.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
- Essential cookies support authentication, session continuity, and security.
- Optional analytics cookies help us understand usage and performance. You can manage preferences via the cookie banner or your browser settings.
- Some providers may set their own cookies when delivering services on our behalf (e.g., analytics, error monitoring, email delivery).
6. Data sharing and processors
- We share personal data with vetted service providers who process it for us under contract (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, error monitoring, payments, and email delivery).
- Broker or shipper contact details are revealed to carriers only when a legitimate reveal action occurs or subscription permissions allow it.
- We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration or for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of PiHaul, our users, or the public.
7. Retention and deletion
- We retain account and usage data while your account is active. If you request deletion, we remove personal data from active systems within 30 days, unless a longer period is required by law or necessary to resolve disputes and enforce agreements.
- Backups and logs are rotated and deleted on schedules appropriate to security, reliability, and compliance needs. Certain billing and audit records may be retained as required by law.
8. Your rights and choices
- You can update profile details, manage subscriptions, or delete your account from the PiHaul dashboard.
- For requests not available in the app—such as access, correction, export, or deletion—email [email protected].
- You can opt out of non-essential emails using in-email links or your settings. Essential transactional emails will still be sent.
9. GDPR rights (EU/EEA & UK)
- If GDPR/UK GDPR applies, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, and port your personal data, and to withdraw consent where we rely on consent.
- To exercise these rights, contact [email protected] with the subject line “GDPR Request.” We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
10. CCPA/CPRA rights (California)
- If you are a California resident, you may have the right to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of sale or sharing of personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.
- PiHaul does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can make a request by emailing [email protected] with the subject “CCPA Request.”
- Authorized agents may submit requests with proof of authorization and identity verification.
- You can also exercise rights via a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link when available in the footer.
11. International transfers
- We may process data in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses and vendor-specific transfer mechanisms.
12. Security
- We employ administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring.
- No system is perfectly secure. If we discover a security incident that affects your data, we will notify you and regulators when required by law.
13. Children’s privacy
- PiHaul is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a minor has provided personal data, contact [email protected] and we will take appropriate action.
14. Changes to this policy
- We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect legal, technical, or business developments. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the app or email. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect indicates acceptance.
